GenLoyal is a mobile app that allows its users to have multiple loyalty programs for different restaurants, all in the same place.
The main users are young people who go out to eat very often, mostly those who have a few favorite places which they keep going back to.
They had an MVP which worked only with one restaurant. The goal was to create an app that holds many different restaurants’ loyalty programs, so their users can keep track of all the points and rewards they have available for any restaurant that’s on the app.
We took the initial time of the project to do some research regarding the loyalty programs market. We benchmarked apps that are similar to GenLoyal and we created user journey maps to understand how the user would interact with the app in the context they're meant to: while having a meal at a restaurant.
With the insights we gathered, we were able to design a user flow that smoothly transitioned between the digital product and the real life experience.
Once we had a clear vision of what we wanted the users to achieve with the app, we started defining key features and requirements for the app to start building our MVP.
We designed wireframes to validate how these features would look in the mobile app. Then, we did some user testing to make sure our designs were intuitive and easy to navigate.
We went for a simple and clean approach that would allow restaurants to bring their own identity to their profiles in the app without looking out of place.
With each restaurant having its own colors and photos in their profile, it's easier for users to recognize which loyalty program they're seeing and not get them mixed up.
